Our heritage.

Three generations. Over five decades in seafood.

The house

Who we are.

Algamar is a family-owned and managed seafood business, carrying forward three generations of experience and more than five decades in the industry.

We process and export a wide variety of seafood — cephalopods, fish and shrimp — in the forms and styles our customers require, and we source for international clients from the origins that suit them best. What has not changed in fifty years is the way we work: close to the source, careful with quality, and straight with the people we deal with.

01 The beginning

It began with one man.

Our journey began in the late 1970s with our founder, Mr. T. M. Zainudheen, who started as a single-person seafood enterprise — supplying seafood and operating local fishing boats, building a close connection with the source and with the seafood industry in India.

In 1981 the family's first canning factory, Royal Food Packers, was established, producing canned sardines and frog legs. In 1995 came our seafood processing factory — another important milestone, extending the house into frozen processing and export to international markets.

Today that journey continues through the third generation, combining the experience, relationships and knowledge built over decades with a growing global seafood network.

02 Processing & export

What we make, and how we send it.

Today we process and export a wide variety of seafood — cephalopods, fish and various shrimp species — in different forms and styles, according to customer requirements and the demands of each market. We supply end users, resellers, wholesalers and re-processors across the Far East, Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Africa.

Alongside frozen, canned and pre-cooked seafood, we specialise in supplying fresh and chilled fish and shrimp by air from India — a discipline that rewards long experience, and very little else.

03 Global sourcing

Wherever the product is best.

Apart from our own processing and exporting, we source seafood for international clients according to their specific requirements, working with established producers and manufacturers across different regions of India and in other key seafood-producing countries.

Beyond India, we work closely with producers in Vietnam, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Africa. This allows us to select the most suitable origin for each requirement — by product, by quality, by market. Where a foreign market or an unusual specification calls for it, we will also trade on our own account.

For an overseas buyer this means one simple thing: whichever factory the product comes from, your contract, your inspection and your guarantee sit with us. We check every outside lot to the same standard as our own production and stand behind it, because a name is only worth what it answers for.

We import a range of seafood, particularly fish, for the domestic Indian market. And over the years we have built long-standing partnerships with many of our associates — relationships founded on mutual trust, transparency and close cooperation.

Today

The third generation

Algamar carries the work forward — the same closeness to the source, now with a global network behind it.

Principles

Three things we hold.

Closeness to the source

Quality is decided at the harbour, not on arrival. Fifty years of standing at the landing site is what allows us to buy well.

Transparency

Every lot is verified, and every claim can be witnessed. Our customers are welcome to see the goods before they are packed.

Relationships that last

Many of our associates have worked with the family for decades — built on mutual trust, close cooperation and business that serves both sides.

Fifty years. One standard.
